8. Orders of the day:
8.1 Debate on the following 1st MKP Party Motion:
On 23 April 2026, hon MA Dirks of the MKP moved as follows:
The House deliberates on the corruption and epic failure of this illegitimate government of provincial unity in KZN after 22 months of mismanagement.
The majority of people in KZN remains landless, unemployed, poor, hungry, and without hope. The people of this province did not vote for this nonsense that had been imposed upon them through political thuggery.
This House resolves:
That this unholy fraudulent arrangement is not the will of the people of KwaZulu-Natal.
8.2 Debate on the 2025/26 Economic Development and Tourism Portfolio Committee FIS Verification Visits Report;
8.3 Debate on the following 1st IFP Party Motion:
On 19 March 2026, hon S Bhanprakash of the IFP moved as follows:
Notes with alarm:
The escalating water pollution crisis in KwaZulu-Natal, specifically the devastating fish kill at Isipingo Lagoon caused by infrastructure failure and cable theft. These spillages repeatedly force beach closures, threatening biodiversity and our vital tourism economy.
At such times, one recalls the words of the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi: âWe are custodians of this land for future generations.â
This House therefore resolves to urge:
Municipalities to prioritise sewage infrastructure maintenance and calls for an urgent parliamentary debate to ensure decisive government action on water-quality monitoring."
8.4 Report of the Premier in commemoration of September as a Heritage Commemoration Month;
8.5 Debate and Voting on the KwaZulu-Natal Second Unauthorized Expenditure Authorization Bill, 2026; and
8.6 Debate and Voting on the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature Unauthorized Expenditure Authorization Bill, 2026.
