The KZN Legislature Deputy Speaker, Hon. Mmabatho Tembe, hosted a focused engagement with single mothers at the Bruntville Community Hall, Bruntville – Mooi River (Mpofana Municipality), as part of her Social Responsibility Programme.
The session highlighted the upcoming 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children, the importance of financial independence for women, and the role of civic education, with the IEC present to guide women on voter participation and their democratic rights.
The event was supported by various government departments such as SASSA, SAPS, Health, and Social Development, along with private business leaders who attended to motivate and offer guidance. Their contributions helped share information, build confidence, and strengthen the journey of women striving for stability and independence.
The engagement created a warm and supportive space for honest conversations, encouragement, and practical advice which they can use to strengthen families and communities.#kznlegislature #kznmpls #singemothers
