In the spirit of supporting small-scale farmers in her constituency, the Speaker of the KZN Legislature visited small-scale farmers in Ward 15, kwaMadlala, under the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality this morning. Over 100 beneficiaries received implements and seedlings to help revive their gardens.

 

Working in partnership with the Department of Agriculture in Ray Nkonyeni, Hon. Boyce encouraged cooperatives to seek training and to collaborate with local schools to supply vegetables, while also learning how to access markets to sell their produce.

 

Among the cooperatives that benefited from this initiative are Mashaba Gardens, Sidakwa Community Garden, Slwane, Magogo and members of one home one garden. The Speaker also urged women farmers to save and reinvest their profits to grow their businesses.
