KWAZULU-NATAL LEGISLATURE MOURNS THE PASSING OF FORMER MPL MS INA CRONJE
KwaZulu-Natal Legislature has learned with shock and sadness of the passing on of its former Member who was also an MEC for Education and later Finance, Ms Catharina Magdalena “Ina” Cronje.
Paying tribute, Speaker of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Nontembeko Boyce said the Legislature mourns the passing of Cronje and that her untimely passing was a great loss.
“We are saddened by the news of the passing on of Ms Catharina Magdalena “Ina” Cronje. We extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and political home; the African National Congress. We pray that God gives them strength during this time of grief,” said Boyce.
Cronje, a lawyer by training and former teacher represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Provincial Legislature from 1994 until she retired from politics in 2014.
She was principled, hard-working and always worked to provide solutions to challenges faced by communities throughout the province.
“On behalf of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, we appreciate and are thankful for the life-time of service given by Ms Catharina Magdalena “Ina” Cronje, a dedicated and humble servant of the Province of KwaZulu-Natal” said Boyce
