GIRL GUIDE UNIFORM HANDOVER
In the Spirit of the Girl Guide Promise
“I promise to do my best,
To do my duty,
To God and to my country,
To help other people and to keep the Guide Law.”
In keeping with this noble promise, the Speaker of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Hon. Nontembeko Boyce, visited Umthethomusha Primary School this morning to hand over Girl Guide uniforms. This heartfelt gesture fulfills a commitment the Speaker made to the school during a previous visit last year.
Hon. Boyce expressed her admiration for the continued presence of Girl Guide programmes in schools, saying:
“It is encouraging to see institutions like Umthethomusha Primary still embracing the Girl Guide movement. It teaches young girls the value of self-affirmation—a powerful tool in combating the social ills in communities.”
This initiative reflects the core values of leadership, service, and empowerment that are central to both the Girl Guide ethos and the Speaker’s vision for youth development in the province.
