The scourge of drug use in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal and the impact this has on the lives of our youth in the townships.
This House therefore resolves:
Ukuba ngokuhlala okulandelayo, amaLungu alesi siShayamthetho ake akhulume kabanzi ngalezi zidakamizwa ezihlasele isiFundazwe sakithi esezibhubhise intsha yakithi emalokishini nesezingenele nasemakhaya imbala.
[That, in the next Sitting, Members of the Legislature debate robustly this scourge of drug abuse plaguing our Province that has not only destroyed our township youth but has also made inroads in rural areas.]
9.3 Report by the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs on Vote 4 departmental performance against their Annual Performance Plans in line with the prescripts of the Legislatureâs Standing Rule 113(1);

On 29 November 2024, hon TP Mthethwa of the IFP moved as follows:
This House notes:
That farmers, especially those in rural areas, have suffered losses amounting to R65 million due to natural disasters in the current financial year; and
Despite these significant losses, affected farmers have not yet been compensated by the government, placing their livelihood and the agricultural sector at risk.
This House therefore resolves:
To urge the national government to take decisive action by expediting compensation for affected farmers and establishing a ring-fenced disaster relief fund to address future crises; and
To debate this motion to seek ways of promoting the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
