Mingezi Twala have arrived in Beijing, China, to participate in a high-level seminar focused on the Exchange of Experiences on Modernizing National Governance and Professionalization of the State between China and South Africa.

The Deputy Speaker of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Hon. Mmabatho Tembe, Hon. Andile Biyela and Hon. Mingezi Twala have arrived in Beijing, China, to participate in a high-level seminar focused on the Exchange of Experiences on Modernizing National Governance and Professionalization of the State between China and South Africa.

This strategic initiative forms part of the partnership between the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature and South Africa’s National School of Government (NSG), which recently formalized collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The seminar, scheduled to run from 7 May to 27 May 2025, will provide a platform for in-depth dialogue on governance innovation, state capacity enhancement, and best practices in public sector professionalism. It signifies a key milestone in deepening bilateral relations and enhancing institutional development through international cooperation.

Deputy Speaker SSR Programme

As part of ongoing efforts to foster a culture of reading among young learners, the Deputy Speaker of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Hon. Mmabatho Tembe, visited Sithunjwana Primary School in eMpendle today.
 
During her visit, Hon. Tembe donated a variety of library books and educational puzzles to the school, fulfilling a promise she made during the KZN Legislature’s School Functionality Programme earlier this year. 
 
Sithunjwana Primary School was among the schools visited by the Deputy Speaker during the school functionality programme, which aims to support and enhance the quality of education across the province. Hon. Tembe’s return marks a continued commitment to improving literacy and learning resources in under-resourced schools.
