Law Making

The unit participate in the law-making constitutional mandate of the Legislature. It conducts research on stakeholders affected by the Bill and assess if they are aware of the Bill and empower Committees with report. It undertakes research on the stakeholder interpretation of Committee information, amendments and creation of bills. The unit analyze the relevance of people attending public hearings and gauge people’s understanding of the content of the Bill. It also assists in providing guidance on suitability of areas for public hearings based on the nature of the Bill. During the public hearing sessions, the unit assess and identify issues for further research and oversight.
