Financial Services

The Branch Financial Services is one of strategic support offices to the Secretary of the legislature. The office is headed by the Executive Manager: Financial Service (Chief Financial Officer). The purpose of the office is to strategically manage and execute budget and treasury processes and ensure compliance with legislation and maintaining clean governance within the institution.

The functions of the branch include:

• Provide strategic executive services to the entire financial services branch in support of achieving the branch’s strategic and service delivery objectives:
• Facilitate the budget and financial management strategies, policies and processes on behalf of the Legislature;
• Facilitate the supply chain management processes, asset management and loss control services in accordance with the institution’s policies and legislative requirements;
• Ensure accurate and appropriate reporting to oversight structures, both internal and external stakeholders;
• Provide integrated banking and cash management system to ensure adequate resource utilisation and revenue management and.
• Continuously review and update governance documents to ensure that potential risks are adequately mitigated.

The Executive Manager: Financial Services serves in the following structures:

• Legislature’s Finance Forum (Governance Cluster) 
• Provincial Chief Financial Officers Forum
