KZN LEGISLATURE INSTRUCTS HEALTH PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE TO MINITOR COVID-19
In the wake of the first confirmed case of the Covid-19 in the province, the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature has instructed members of KwaZulu-Natalâs Portfolio Committee on Health to keep a beady eye on efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
The Speaker, Ms Nontembeko Boyce said the Legislature expected up to the minute briefings from the Health Portfolio and the MEC for Health in the province on any developments around Covid-19.
Echoing the words of KwaZulu-Natal Premier Mr Sihle Zikalala wherein he called for calm and reassured the nation of its safety, the Speaker said KwaZulu-Natal had full confidence in its health system.
âWe plead with our society to take all the necessary precautions and seek immediate medical help in the event of symptoms that match those of the Covid-19,â Ms Boyce said.
