1.     OBITUARIES (Item 2 on the Order Paper)

 

Honourable Members, it is with profound sadness that we formally note the passing away of:

 

 

1.1    Mr Sibusiso Dlamini, son to Getrude Dlamini (our SCM staff member) passed away on Wednesday, 25th May 2016 and was laid to rest on Sunday, 29th May 2016;

 

1.2   Mr Z Ncube, a father-in-law to hon N Dube-Ncube, MEC for Co-operative Governance & Traditional Affairs passed on and was laid to rest on Saturday, 18th June 2016;

 

1.3  Mrs EV Sithole, mother to Cedric Sithole (IT Unit staff member) passed away on Wednesday, 09th June 2016 and was laid to rest on Thursday, 16th June 2016;

 

1.4    Mr Mahobhe Mchunu, father to the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Hon T.W. Mchunu. He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 25 June 2016 at Wembezi Stadium the service will start at 09H00; and

 

1.5    Mr Enock Mqapheleni Sibiya an elder brother to Mr Sibusiso Sibiya (Sotobe) from HR Division.  He passed away on Friday at Eshowe Hospital.  He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 25 June 2016 at KwaMondi Lutheran Church (Eshowe) the service will start at 10h00.

 

 

2.    ANNOUNCEMENTS (Item 3 on the Order Paper)

 

 

            2.1   APOLOGIES

 

2.1.1 Honourable Ms BF Scott, MEC for Finance has tendered her apology for leaving today’s sitting early.  MEC Scott has an urgent meeting;

 

2.1.2 Honourable Ms N Dube-Ncube, MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs has tendered her apology for not attending today’s sitting.  She has a government engagement in Pretoria;

 

 

2.1.3 Honourable Mr TM Kaunda, MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison has tendered his apology for not attending today’s sitting.  MEC Kaunda is at Msinga on government business;

 

2.1.4 Honourable Mr RR Pillay, MEC for Public Works and Human Settlements has tendered his apology for not attending today’s sitting.  MEC Pillay is launching the Gamalakhe Rectification Project in Hibiscus Coast Municipality during the Legislature Sitting;

 

2.1.5 Honourable Ms MC Fraser and honourable Ms GN Swartbooi-Ntombela have tendered their apologies for not attending today’s sitting.  They are on members’ capacity building; and

 

2.1.6 Honourable Mr V Ndlovu has tendered his apology for not attending today’s sitting.  He has a party commitment.

       2.3   REMINDER – 2016 YOUTH PARLIAMENT

 

Honourable Members are reminded that the Youth Parliament for 2016 will be held on 23 – 24 June 2016 at John L Dube Stadium; iNanda – eThekwini.
